Texas Horny Lizard (Phrynosoma cornutum)
The Technology of Life

As it turns out, the final frontier is not far out in space, but right here in our midst. From the firefly's chemical light to intricate micro-channels on the horny lizard's spiky skin to spinning molecular machines, life's technology is intriguing and mind-blowing. It has inspired so many technological advances that a new science called biomimicry, the application of nature-inspired designs in human engineering, has emerged. Humanity, however, has barely begun to scratch the surface.

The technology of life remains a limitless frontier of exploration and a playground of fascinating discoveries!

Of Tangles and Balls

My struggles to untangle the cords of my earphones often reminds me of my grandma. She never had earphone cords to worry about, but she had yarn, lots of it. Her yarn was never tangled though. She meticulously finger-wrapped any loose yarn into tight balls to prevent endless knitting nightmares. It requires planning and effort to prevent strings of any kind from becoming a useless mess. Sailors, gardeners, craft enthusiasts, and manufacturers can all attest to this truth. When I learned about DNA, more.

COMPLEXITY earns a 2019 Academic's Choice Mind Spring Award for

mind-building excellence.

Frisco, Texas (May 3, 2019) TechnoNature is pleased to announce that COMPLEXITY

has been honored with a 2019 Academics’ Choice Mind Spring Award, a prestigious seal of

educational quality, reserved only for the best mind-building media and toys.

The independent Academics’ Choice Awards program and its seal of excellence are recognized

worldwide by consumers and educational institutions as a mark of genuinely effective learning tools that stimulate the mind, and provide potential for the student to fully develop higher order thinking skills.

COMPLEXITY is a winner of the Academics’ Choice Mind Spring toy category. The Academics' Choice Advisory Board consists of leading thinkers and graduates from Princeton, Harvard, George Washington University, and other reputable educational institutions. Product-appropriate volunteer reviewers, combined with the brainpower of the

Board, determine the coveted winners. Entries are judged by category (i.e. mobile app, toy, book, website, magazine, etc.), subject area, and grade level, and evaluated based on standardized criteria rooted in constructivist learning theory. The full list of winners is posted online at

The hundreds of submitted products that are not chosen by the Academics’ Choice Awards team (and many that are chosen) are donated to a variety of worthy charities and other organizations across the globe.
